Early College Program at Kokomo High School
About Early College
The Early College program expands opportunities for students by enabling them to earn a high school diploma while also completing the Indiana Early College Core, an associate degree, a college credential, or 15 or more dual college credits. By combining college-level coursework with strong academic and personal supports, the Early College program helps more students access higher education and thrive once they arrive.
Through rigorous academics, a strong college-going culture, and close collaboration with community and higher education partners, the Early College program empowers students to achieve academic success and confidently pursue postsecondary pathways.

Application Process
Participation is open to all students who choose to apply. Interested students complete a two-part online application, with sections filled out by both the student and a parent or guardian. Applicants also submit a non-family reference (e.g., teacher, coach, pastor, mentor, supervisor), which provides valuable insight into their strengths, motivation, and support needs. The application to participate in the Early College program opens to freshman in January and is due by mid-February.
Supports for Student Success
Kokomo High School Early College students are supported through a comprehensive network of academic, social–emotional, and college-readiness resources. Each student has access to three Early College mentors—the Coordinator of College and Career Preparation, the Workforce Development and Pathway Facilitator, and the Early College Counselor—who can be reached at any time through a QR code request or email. Students also have daily access to their teachers and multiple tutoring options.
Early College students also meet monthly with the Early College Counselor and the Workforce Development and Pathway Facilitator for cohort lessons designed to build relationships with fellow Early College students and increase academic skills, college knowledge, and career readiness. These lessons cover topics such as understanding the Early College program, learning about available credentials (certificates, technical certificates, and associate degrees), decoding college vocabulary, navigating FAFSA and financial aid, reading college transcripts, exploring resources available to them, and participating in college-and career-related field trips.
