The Responsive Services component of the Comprehensive School Counseling Program includes Individual Counseling, Support Group Facilitation, and Crisis Response as well as coordination, referral, and outreach with community agencies. Responsive Services are designed to address the immediate concerns of students. The purpose is prevention and intervention regarding many issues that students bring to school that can interfere with their academic achievement.
The School Counselor provides brief counseling sessions. If more in-depth counseling or therapy is necessary, the counselor facilitates access to other community resources for the student and their family.
PATH: Providing Access to Healing
Kohler Elementary School students can receive confidential licensed mental health therapy through United Way of Sheboygan County’s PATH program at school. We often have a waiting list so parents/guardians should contact Mrs. Multer for more information and forms required for participation as soon as possible if interested in having a student participate in the program.
A plethora of resources are available to parents/guardians for checkout from the KES Counseling office.
