With more than 15 years of valuable industry experience, Stevens specializes in bringing together people, process and data to serve as the foundation for sustainable, impactful collaborative initiatives.

Director of Data & Analytics for ReUp Education, where he partnered with universities and community colleges to harness the power of data to find, engage, and empower students who have left school to return, navigate a path to complete their degree, and achieve their goals.
Director of Collaboration Services at Brighthive, where he worked with stakeholders across the higher education and workforce sector to develop data trusts that unlock data assets designed to support workers and learners along their career journey.
Director of Data Science at Benefits Data Trust, where he developed data processes and infrastructure that streamlined access to essential benefits like SNAP, WIC, CHIP, and Medicaid.
Mathematical Statistician at the US Census Bureau, where he contributed to the design and implementation of the 2010 Census.
Matt holds an MS in Survey Methodology from the University of Maryland – College Park and a BS in Statistics from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville and is based in Kapaʻau, Hawai’i. A member of the Hawai’i Cycling Club, Matt spends much of his free time exploring the Big Island by bike. His approach to leadership and collaboration have been informed by his study of mindfulness meditation and collective music improvisation – having attended workshops led by musicians Billy Martin, John Medeski, Cyro Baptista, Nels Cline, Dweezil Zappa, Ingrid Sertso, and Karl Berger as well as mindfulness practitioners Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
