It moves beyond theory by outlining key design areas, such as mastery-based learning, flexible use of time, learner pathways, and system alignment, while elevating lessons from Pennsylvania districts actively implementing innovative models.
In the 2025–2026 school year, the Innovation Guide has served as the foundation for a regional workshop series focused on identifying high-leverage transformation priorities. The region is currently advancing the development and implementation of a Profile of a Learner and redesigning school structures, particularly the strategic use of time, to create flexible learning pathways for students and more intentional professional learning structures for educators.
