• Watch the remainder of the Hidden Markov Models lesson (pick up at "Sign Language Recognition")
• Complete Project 4: ASL Recognizer
  • Refer to the Project Setup Walkthrough Video
  • Clone the project repository using Git -- refer back to the References & Resources lesson on Git (from week 1) as needed

Reading

• (OPTIONAL) Add Real-Time American Sign Language Recognition from Video Using Hidden Markov Models (Thad Starner's thesis - it isn't required for the project, but it adds a lot of context to the material in the lectures), Two Decades of Statistical Modeling: Where do We Go From Here?, and the HTK Handbook (especially Chapter 14) to your bookshelf for later reading
