Tanvi Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Wright State University and a secondary appointment at the Department of Geriatrics at the Boonshoft School of Medicine. She leads the Data Science for Healthcare (DASH) lab at WSU. Her research involves multimodal data fusion, machine learning, computer vision, and mobile healthcare technologies. Before joining WSU, Dr. Banerjee was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and a Research Assistant Professor in the Kno.e.sis center at Wright State University. During her postdoctoral studies, she contributed to the NIH-funded project on Depression to understand the role of social media and patient forum data for healthcare management in the domain of major depressive disorder. She was also awarded the prestigious NIH K01 project on Dementia Management using smartphone technologies and a co-investigator in the NIH R01 funded Asthma Management project. She is currently working on projects to study Sickle Cell Anemia, analyzing in-situ manufacturing processes supported by the Department of Energy, and supply-chain analytics using natural language processing supported by USAF.
