Welcome to the Orchestra Program

Orchestra at KMMS includes an instrumental choice of violin, viola, cello and bass. We focus largely on instrumental techniques and performance, but also address disciplinary learning aligned with music theory, the fundamentals of rhythm and pitch, song-writing, and exploration of many different genres of music. Students enjoy the opportunity to MOVE and be CREATIVE in orchestra, as well as the social-emotional benefits of being in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment. About Ms. Weber

Hi, my name is Shelly Weber, and I'm so happy to invite you to the KM Orchestra program! I am a graduate of Kettle Moraine (Go Lasers!) and recently purchased my childhood home on Pretty Lake so that I can raise my own daughter, Sunny, in this fantastic community. My husband, Nick, and I are both musicians, he teaches middle school band at Longfellow Middle School in Wauwatosa, so there is plenty of music in the Weber-Jelich household!

My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Education earned from UW-Whitewater. I also hold a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction earned from UW-Madison. My pedagogical focus is to inspire students to be problem-solvers through the study of music, and to have opportunities to feel well-connected socially, emotionally, and intellectually through music. I hold my students to incredibly high musical and academic standards, but there is still plenty of room for FUN in the orchestra classroom.
