Homework

• Students are encouraged to read a minimum of 20 minutes daily outside of class to develop fluency, vocabulary, and endurance. Reading to/with your child is beneficial outside of class but I will not ask for a reading log to be turned in weekly. I believe if a child reads outside of what we do in class, it should be to develop a love of reading! Please encourage your child to read. It is one the best things you can do for them academically!

Spelling Tests will be given on Fridays. Homework will not be assigned, but students need to prepare in a way that helps them learn their words and be successful. In order to minimize the amount of new material given on Mondays, spelling will be given on Wednesdays and tests on Tuesdays.

Math Fact Fluency: Students will the most success in math by obtaining automaticity with their basic math facts. We use XTRAMATH at least three days a week to work on our skills. It is recommended that if your child struggles with this they practice outside of school.

**If needed, assignments will be given if it becomes necessary for the success of your child. I will contact you ahead of time if the need arises.
