We are accepting submissions from October 28 to February 28 @ 11:59 pm.
Note: Submission does not equal publication. Our submissions team will let you know if your piece has been accepted or rejected for publication. Your submission does not have to fit under the theme of "Impact," but if you are interested in writing a piece surrounding that topic, please see the topic submission criteria at the bottom.
All Submissions:
Submissions must be Klein Clean
No profane language or overly explicit material
No offensive material will be accepted (i.e. derogatory or hateful language)
All works must be of your own original creation. No fan fiction/fanart.
Pen names are accepted, but your legal name must be included in the submission along with your pen name. In the chance that you have a chosen name, please include it in parenthesis by your legal name so we can credit you in the magazine properly.
You must submit from your Klein ISD student Gmail account.
Fiction Submission:
This includes short stories, novel excerpts, flash fiction, and scripts/screenplays
Word Limits: must be 3,000 words or less
Please use an excerpt from the piece, if completed work is longer than 3,000 words.
All submissions must include a title
Must be in the form of a Google Document or Word Document
Poetry Submission:
This includes traditional poetry, song lyrics (without recorded audio), prose poetry, etc.
You can submit up to 5 poems.
If submitting a collection of poems, please submit them separately.
Must be in the form of a Google Document or Word Document.
Creative Nonfiction Submission:
This includes personal essays/memoirs, narrative essays, literary journalism/feature writing, cultural criticism, lyric essays, etc.
Word Limits: must be 3,000 words or less
Please use an excerpt from the piece, if completed work is longer than 3,000 words.

Must be in the form of a Google Document or Word Document
Art Submission:
Includes digital art, traditional art, mixed media art, 3D art (such as sculptures and ceramics), and photography
Must be submitted as a JPG or PNG file. If the work is not digital, it must be scanned or submitted as a photo.
You may include an artist’s statement, but it is not required.
Art pieces do not need to include a title, but may if the artist desires.
If submitted with a title, the piece will be labeled ‘Untitled' in the magazine.
Multimedia Submission:
Includes audio recordings, dance videos, short films, animation, sheet music, and more

Submissions must be made as an MP3, MP4, JPG, or PNG.
Exceptions can be made for works that don't fit this category, but you must contact us to discuss this.
Thematic Topic: "Impact"
All categories can be submitted under this topic.
This can be an impact in the physical sense, of objects crashing into one another, or it can be more personal, such as a major life event or a role model. We just want to see something that causes change!

Write about the impact of a hero on their community.
Write about a situation that forces your character to grow up.
Write about the first time you or a character visited somewhere.
Write about an important relationship in your life and how it has changed you.
Write a song about a lifelong scar or injury, such as the bullet that killed Alexander Hamilton with his duel with Aaron Burr.
Write an essay about how you would change the world's effect on the environment if given the opportunity.
Draw/take a photo of something that represents the impact of grief on yourself or others.
Animate something that changes significantly over time.
