Ms. La'Netha Jefferson is a passionate and accomplished music educator who joins the Klein Forest Golden Eagle Choir with a strong background in vocal performance and educational leadership. A native of Houston, Texas, she studied Music Education at Louisiana State University (Class of 2012) and went on to receive a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas (Class of 2022). 

Ms. Jefferson began her career at Davis High School as an assistant director under the legendary Daryle Freeman. She then served as Head Choir Director at Teague Middle School for two years before becoming the founding head director at Autumn Ridge Middle School in Humble ISD. Under her leadership, her choirs have earned numerous accolades, including Sweepstakes awards, Outstanding Performance recognition at Kemah Choir Days, and Superior Ratings at the Texas Music Festival (TMF).

Ms. Jefferson performed for three seasons with the Houston Symphony Chorus under the direction of the incomparable Dr. Betsy Cook Weber, during which she had the opportunity to perform behind the legendary Andrea Bocelli. Ms. Jefferson also has an extensive background in musical theatre, having performed in New Venture Theatre’s (Baton Rouge, LA) productions of Once on This Island, Dreamgirls, and The Color Purple, to name a few. She was named a national winner in the “Your Voice is Power” competition sponsored by Pharrell Williams, a moment that deeply affirmed her passion for empowering students through music. She was also recognized as "Teacher of the Year" at Davis 9th Grade School for the 2019–2020 school year. 

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her 20-month-old son, Liam, who is the joy of her life. She enjoys watching sports, traveling, watching Harry Potter, and family game nights. 

Ms. Jefferson is deeply committed to using music as a tool for growth, connection, and excellence. She believes in fostering a supportive and inspiring environment where students can develop both their vocal talents and their confidence. She looks forward to leading the Golden Eagle Choir and helping her students reach their highest potential through music.
