LD Debate - Lincoln Douglas Debate is prepared and argued individually. We use the LD Debate format. You prepare both Affirmative and Negative sides. Topics are from TFA and are given out every 2 months.
PF Debate - Public Forum Debate is prepared and argued as a duet. We use the Ted Turner format. Each team prepares both Pro and Con sides. Topics are from TFA and give out monthly.
Oratory - Speech event that is a persuasive speech written and memorized by an individual. Topics are usually of controversial nature containing personal experience, hard evidence and an emotional appeal.
Extemporaneous - Individuals prepare current events on their chromebook concerning Domestic and International Issues of concern. At the competition, individuals use their research to write a 7 minute speech in 30 minutes using 1 index card.
Impromptu - Individuals are given topics at the tournament from a general platform of humanity. They get a set time to prepare three ideas concerning the topic prior to performing in front of a judge.
Declamation - A famous speech no longer than 7 minutes that must be memorized.
