DISTRICT OF INNOVATION PROPOSAL FORMS AND SUBMISSIONS

In order to expedite the innovation exemption process and allow campuses increased flexibility, our DIDC and DOI Planning Team agreed to revise the exemption proposal process from what was originally planned. Instead of establishing teams to develop a standard sets of criteria for each exemption, campuses can now submit their exemption proposals similar to how they submit DIDC proposals.

  • A campus interested in a particular exemption would complete the innovation proposal & get approval from the principal and CIDC to move it forward.

  • SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL REQUEST TO Amanda Salinas, Director of Research and Program Evaluation.

  • The Innovation proposal would then be submitted to the appropriate innovation team for feedback and questions. This would include a review by appropriate district staff such as Teaching & Learning, HR, or Finance depending on the proposal submitted. These teams would review proposals to ensure legal and financial guidelines are met and to determine district implications.

  • The principals will turn in their forms to their Executive Directors for Teaching and Learning who will coordinate the process.

  • Feedback would be sent back to the campus, and revisions to the proposal are made based on the feedback.

  • The Innovation proposal would then go to DIDC for a vote.

  • If approved, a bank of approved Innovation Exemptions would be updated and campuses would be notified.

  • If another campus would like to utilize the approved innovation, they would submit the form with their measures of success along with any modifications they made to the proposal.

We are looking forward to working with campuses on this process!
