As we begin this year with a continued focus on safe and disciplined schools, I want to remind all our families about Klein ISD’s student behavior expectations. It takes staff, students, and families working together to promote the good behavior we expect to see in our school. 

Klein ISD has a Student Code of Conduct to promote a safe and disciplined learning environment for every student that will be strictly enforced on our campus. Therefore, please review with your family these standards of conduct along with the disciplinary consequences for infractions.

Beginning this school year, state legislation HB 114 mandates any student caught with a vaping device be automatically placed into a disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP). This includes any student who possesses, uses, sells, gives, or delivers to another person an e-cigarette device. 

We take great pride in creating safe learning environments for our students and staff members. The overwhelming majority of our students are model citizens. We expect every student to take responsibility for contributing to a positive school environment, and we will not tolerate disruptive or disrespectful behavior. Our administrators and staff members are committed to actively monitoring hallways and restroom areas to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and I ask you, as parents, to partner with us by speaking with your children about appropriate behavioral expectations to ensure a positive learning environment in our school.

I also encourage you to take a look at our Keep Klein Safe website (https://kleinisd.net/keepkleinsafe). If you or your child see or hear something that is a safety concern, it’s critical that you report it. Our Klein ISD Police Department is here 24/7 to keep our students, staff, and community safe and take these reports seriously. Additionally, our school administration is here to serve and support students and they are available anytime during the school day to answer questions and support all efforts for student safety and success.
