Your first rehearsal is a chance to meet us, sing along, and see what Kitsap Community Chorale is all about—there's no pressure or obligation to join. We'll help you get checked in, introduce you to a few friendly faces, and make sure you have the music you need. Come a few minutes early, and we'll help you get settled before rehearsal begins.
Not at all! The only requirement is a love of singing.
Our members come from a wide variety of musical backgrounds. Some have sung in choirs for many years, while others are returning after a long break or joining a choir for the very first time. If you enjoy singing and are willing to learn, we'd love to welcome you.
Our director and fellow members are here to support you every step of the way.
Yes, but don't let that scare you! Our audition is informal and simply helps our director determine your vocal range and ensure you're comfortable singing with the choir. It's not about perfection—it's about finding the voice part where you'll be most successful.
Don't worry if you're not sure!
Our director will help determine whether you're a soprano, alto, tenor, or bass during your audition. Many people are surprised to discover the voice part that's the best fit for them.
Membership dues are $60 per season for adults and $30 per season for students.
Each season includes all rehearsals, music, and performances.
Members are also asked to sell (or purchase and give away) four concert tickets each season, as ticket sales help support the chorale's operations.
If cost is a concern, please don't let that stop you from joining. Limited scholarships are available. Contact our director or a board member to learn more.
That's completely normal!
Many of our members felt the same way before attending their first rehearsal. You'll be welcomed by friendly people who simply love to sing and enjoy making music together. We were all new once, and we're excited to help you feel at home.
Rehearsals are held at:
Grace Bible Church
7070 Bethel Burley Rd SE
Port Orchard, WA 98367
There is plenty of free parking available on site. Simply park in the church parking lot and come inside—we'll help you find the rehearsal space.
We rehearse Monday evenings from 5:45–7:45 PM at Grace Bible Church in Port Orchard.
Occasionally, sectional rehearsals may be scheduled to help specific voice parts prepare their music.
We have two concert seasons each year:
Winter
Spring
Each season concludes with a public concert, along with occasional community performances throughout the year.
No! While some members read music fluently, others learn primarily by listening to practice tracks and rehearsing with their section. We provide rehearsal resources to help everyone succeed.

Contemporary choral music
There's something for everyone!
We understand that life happens! While regular attendance is important because each rehearsal builds toward our performances, we know that work, family, illness, and other commitments can occasionally get in the way.
To help everyone stay on track, we record our rehearsals and make them available to members. If you miss a rehearsal, you can review what was covered at your convenience. Many members also use the recordings to revisit challenging sections or get extra practice between rehearsals.
Bring:
A pencil with an eraser
A black 3-ring binder (non-glossy cover)
A water bottle if you'd like
Your enthusiasm!
We'll provide information about your music and rehearsal materials.
Because we rehearse in a shared indoor space, we ask members to avoid wearing strong perfumes, colognes, or other heavily scented products out of consideration for those with allergies or sensitivities.
Wear whatever is comfortable! Most members come to rehearsal in casual clothing.
For concerts, we wear formal black concert attire. Specific guidelines are provided well before each performance, giving everyone plenty of time to prepare.
We're happy to help!
