I love being part of the Kitsap Community Chorale because I get to spend time with a fun group of people who love making music. I enjoy the singing, but I enjoy the people even more.

Love singing with you all!

I think singing in the community is actually my favorite part of choir. The personal up-close interaction, seeing how the music touches the audience in a casual but yet intimate setting, to me anyway, is so much more fulfilling and FUN!! The energy exchange between the audience and the choir is like soul food. Especially in the assisted living communities, to see the residents react to the music, singing and clapping, smiling, etc... that is my absolute favorite part of being in KCC in someways even more so than our concerts, and I love those. Well, that and the honor of being a member of such an amazing group of loving, talented, supportive people! When I found KCC, it was like finding a second family. I walk into rehearsal, and I can feel the love and positivity in the room, it's absolutely wonderful.

KCC welcomes anyone loves to sing and make music. While reading sheet music is helpful, it isn't required.

Meredith Shanley
Collaborative Pianist
Inspired by my parents who were music teachers, I began playing piano and accompanying at an early age. While still in high school, I played piano in a big band, was organist at my home church, and accompanied choirs and soloists. At CWU, I had the opportunity to perform as an organ major with the Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Chorale and numerous soloists and ensembles. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Keyboard Performance.
Since moving to the Kitsap Peninsula, I have served as organist/choir accompanist at a number of churches, played for community theatre and school musical productions, and free-lanced as a wedding musician.
I attended several KCC concerts that my friends were singing in. I loved it so much, I joined the group, singing tenor. After a couple of years off (darn pandemic), I am delighted to return to this community that is so dear to my heart.
When I’m not making music, I enjoy attending concerts, watching the Seahawks and the Kraken, and spending time with my family.

Until I moved to Port Orchard, I hadn't sung in a group since High School and Community College. I joined a small ensemble up in Poulsbo and rekindled my passion for singing. While I was rehearsing, I bumped into a Chorale member and he encouraged me to check it out. I've been singing with KCC ever since. I love the comradery and joy that singing in this group brings, and like my friend, I encourage you to come and check us out.

My musical experience started when I was 3 years old on the trumpet and singing in youth choir at 8. At 12 started on the Tuba and still play today when I get the chance. I was and still am a starting member and member at large for the KCC. I sing some tenor but mostly baritone and bass. I love what we do.
I was a navy musician from 1971 till 1975 Playing Tuba El bass and vocals. Music has been a big part of my life and I will keep going as long as I can.
Thanks for your support.
