You are able to sign in to your display using your kiskiarea.com Google account. Using a SMART Card will allow you to easily sign into any SMART Board in the world and sync files with just the card and a pin.
To sign in:
Tap the blue person icon in the top left of the display.
Then click "Sign in".
A new window will show up. Tap "Sign in with Google" and enter your Google credentials.
If you already have a SMART account, you are then automatically logged in. If you do not have an account, it will walk you through the steps of creating one.
To link your account to a SMART Card:
Sign into the display using your Google Account. Once you're signed in, tap your profile picture in the top left of the display. Then tap "Edit Account" > "Set up ID Card" > "Add ID Card". You will then be prompted to create a pin - do not forget this pin, as it will be necessary to use the ID card. When prompted, hold the ID card to the display and follow any additional instructions.
Your SMART Board has two ways of installing apps - one way is to use the built in app store. The other is to request an app through the Kiski Area technology ticket system.
To install an app through the built in app store:
Open the app list from your Home Screen
Tap "App Store"
All available apps will now be displayed. The built in App Store is very limited in app choices.
To request an app using the ticket system:
Go to play.google.com and find the app you would like.
Once you find an app, copy the URL.
Create a new ticket in SchoolDude. For Work Type, select "SMART Board App Request".
In the description, you must include the link of the app you want to download, and the asset tag of your SMART Board (KASD-SB-xxxx).
Please Note:
Not all apps requested will be installed. Apps must go through testing before install to make sure that they are compatible with our SMART Boards. Google Apps are not compatible with SMART Boards - they must be opened through the built-in browser.
All SMART Boards come with Google Chrome built in, meaning that you do not need a computer connected to browse the web.
To open the browser, tap on the "Browser" icon under favorites.
You may use the browser exactly as you would on a Chromebook or laptop. If a webpage is not rendering correctly:
Tap on the three dots in the top right of the browser Window
Select "Desktop Site"
Your SMART Board comes with a built in whiteboard app which can be integrated with SMART Lumio.
Tap on the Whiteboard icon under favorites.
The interface of the Whiteboard app looks identical to the one found in Lumio - and the Whiteboard app has all of the same interactive features that Lumio has.
*Whiteboard files are automatically saved to your SMART Board
You have the option to lock your display if you walk away from it, meaning no one can use it until you enter your pin.
To set a screen lock:
Press the lock icon in the bottom left of your display.
Enter a pin to unlock the display.
Confirm the pin and click next.
To unlock the display, tap it and enter the pin you just created.
If you are not signed into a board, cleaning up is the best way to remove all data created from a session. This will log you out of the browser, clear cookies, etc. This option is only available if you are not signed in.
To clean up the board:
Tap "Clean Up" in the bottom right of the home screen
Then tap "Yes" and let the display clean up
