Criminal Investigations course is about investigating crime scenes, what occurs when a crime first happens and what steps are needed to get the case from the field investigations to the courtroom for a conviction or an acquittal . My class will be 90% hands on learning and 10% workbook and power point presentation. This class is a continuation of my Law-Principles of Law class, where students were taught how to lift fingerprints and investigate a crime scene. My goal this year is to have field trips planned throughout the year to offer the students the opportunity to interview and see first hand what the District Attorney's office actually does with a case, to listen to guest speakers from the Texas Department of Corrections, criminal investigations division from Kilgore Police Department and tour a jail facility. We will also be re-creating more crime scenes, as well as natural disaster scenes. My goal is to make my class a fun class, but yet a learning tool for those who want to enter into the Public Safety field after graduation. If you have any questions about my class, please feel free to email and I will respond as quickly as possible. Thank you for allowing me to share your child with you.
