My name is Dee Ann Brown and I am the Criminal Investigations teacher for the 2021-2022 year. I graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1981 and attended Kilgore College's Criminal Justice Program. I attended East Texas Police Academy, obtaining my Peace Officers license in 1990. I currently hold a Master Peace Officers license. I retired in 2018 after 40 years in Law Enforcement, the last 22 1/2 years with Kilgore Police Department. I was a crime scene investigator for 17 years with KPD, as well as serving on the bike patrol, mounted unit, Criminal Investigations division and Honor Guard. I have received accolades for Officer of the Year, as well as the Purple Heart, for injuries received during the line of duty. I married my husband Joe in 1983 and we currently live in Kilgore. I have 1 son who also attended KHS. I begin my career in education in the 2020-2021 school year at KHS, teaching the first law enforcement class offered at KHS, Law-Principles of Law. I am excited for the new school year and the first ever Criminal Investigations course.
