This full-day workshop will highlight why establishing a balanced assessment system is crucial to the success of all learners. First, the session will focus on six critical assessment tenets that are timeless and universal. Then the focus will shift to the formative use of assessment, effective feedback, the establishment of success criteria, and how to bring students inside the assessment process. The afternoon's focus will shift to sound grading practices that ensure that student achievement is accurately reported. Specifically, this segment will emphasize why traditional grading structures are somewhat antiquated and why a more seamless relationship between instructional and reporting is necessary. Aside from the content, this workshop will also provide both team and individual planning time.
