Gotjawal forest is home for many animals. More than 45% of all Jeju plant species are found in Gotjawal forest. And 36 endangered species listed on IUNC. 29 mammal species, 11 species of reptiles, and nine species of amphibians and species. Gotjawal is special as it held the title "only forest in the world with both Northern and Southern hemisphere plants coexists.

The beauty can be only found when tracking down the Gotjawal trails and sensing the serenity of nature. A government report even said that Gotjawal has potential value academically because of its unique environment and endangered species. It's the only place in the whole world which has both northern and southern hemisphere animals and plants.
This is a plant that adapted to survive under the tall pine trees. As you can see in the picture, the plant has grew in the sun where shadows are surrounding everywhere. There are some incredible plants on gotjawal.
