Sign in with your Google account to start designing in Google Sites or edit your existing sites. After you log into the Google Sites dashboard you can launch the site builder app in your browser. You should automatically begin in editor mode with the power to build all your website content.

If you can't find your site that could be several different reasons:
You aren't logged in to a site editor or owner holding Google account
Your site was deleted. This could have done by you or someone else with access to the Google Sites file in Google Drive. Check your trash to see if it's there.
Your Google Site was moved or your permissions were revoked.
Your site was taken down by a Google Workspace admin (only applies if the site was created in a Google Workspace domain).
If you can't edit your Google website, then confirm you are using a desktop computer because there is no mobile experience for developing Google Sites. Here are the available access points to a site:
sites.google.com which is the dashboard and landing page for this Google app
drive.google.com which hosts Google Sites as files
the published Google Sites web address will show an editing pencil icon the bottom right (this login method doesn't not work when visiting the custom domain address). Published sites have two different formats: sites.google.com/view/... and sites.google.com/[workspace.com]/... There is also a trick where you can search in the website source code to discover the published URL. View page source and use the find shortcut for sites.google.com
This error indicates a few potential issues:
The site doesn't exist at that web address anymore, meaning it was changed or deleted.
The site is private and you don't have permissions (viewer, editor, owner) with you current Google account
Here are the recommended actions to attempt to find your site when it's disappeared:
Try logging into any Google accounts that might have Owner or Edit permissions to the site
Check your Trash in Google Drive on accounts that had access to the site, because Google Sites are a Google Drive file type
Contact others, like your administrator or whoever else had the ability to move or delete the file in Google Drive
Investigate if your Google Sites file was moved, unpublished, taken down or deleted
