Devin is our new Outdoor Learning Specialist. The full bio is coming soon.
Devin is an outdoor educator with a background in environmental studies and cultural anthropology, currently working at Nature’s Way Preschool and leading public programming through the Nature Center alongside the Zilker Nature Preserve. She helps students connect with the natural world through hiking, identifying local flora and fauna, and building hands-on outdoor skills—using their bodies to climb, balance, and explore, growing familiar with the plants and animals around them, and developing confidence through experience.
We collect kitchen compost from school members and neighbors for our garden.
Large brush is taken home by volunteers to be commercially composted; never landfilled.
Help directly and quickly.
Include "Garden" in the Gift Note.
*New*: Garden Books Wish List
Reminder: Using your Amazon Points or Gift Cards for our Wish List is helpful and much appreciated.
Our garden is collecting cinder blocks, terracotta pots, and saucers. Donations can be left at the garden gate. Old terracotta pots and saucers will be repurposed into ollas—buried watering vessels that slowly release moisture into the soil, keeping plants healthy while conserving water. Thank you for helping us grow creatively and sustainably!
Thank you to our table sponsors! 3 new tables!
The kids took down the dead trees!
The mulch is in beds and on the path!
Through our dedicated gardening program, students are learning how to nurture our plants and chickens while also becoming responsible stewards of the environment.
Because of our efforts, we are thrilled to share that we have been awarded a grant by the City of Austin's Department of Climate Action and Resilience. The $3,000 received from the 'Bright Green Future Grant' will be used to enhance our rainwater collection and harvesting.
Thank you to our faithful gardening guide, Ms. Kylee, and all our families and faculty who have ever lent a hand (and probably gotten a little dirty!) to support this very special space of ours.
Thank you!
Pretty clean street.
