Critical Behavior Consults
Process:
Student meets criteria for behavior consult (Click on 'Behavior Consult Decision Tree' on the left)
School submits google form with necessary information (See FAQ)
Behavior Specialist schedules first observation of student within 2 weeks of request
Behavior Specialist develops a new BIP based on observations, staff input & FBA
Behavior Specialist trains stakeholders on how to implement BIP and collect data
Regional support team intermittently conducts BIP fidelity checks and are on the ground support
Behavior Specialist re-evaluates and adjusts BIP as necessary every 6 weeks depending on student progress
Virtual Thought Partnering with Behavior Specialist
Schedule a virtual meeting for a problem solving session with a behavior specialist to brainstorm strategies and interventions for students who do not qualify as a "critical consult"
Be sure to try out the strategies listed above first in "Common Problems in the Classroom"
Behavior Specialist will reach out within 48 hours of receiving request to schedule meeting and send out meeting agenda
Campus must complete and send agenda back to behavior specialist prior to meeting
