My students have social studies projects due Friday, May 10, and they are also working on a science biome website in class throughout next week. Final A.R. points are due Monday, May 20 - our library closes this day.
Tuesday, May 14th after lunch, 5th graders will find out their Timber-Lee groups and meet with their groups and chaperones to create their group poster and chant.
Wed., May 15, we leave for Timber-Lee around 9:00 A.M. Students need to bring their pillow, blanket, and bag/suitcase (that they are responsible for carrying and bringing with them on the busses). We bring our own sack lunch (fully disposable) for that day. We've discussed our daily schedule, how we clean up after ourselves at meals (table "hopping" - working together to clear the table, sort dishes, etc.), how we need to take quick showers, what to pack, and so forth a bit already. Start getting your things packed ahead of time!
Friday, May 17, we return to school right at the end of the day.
Monday, May 20 - Project Tornado assembly at school
Friday, May 24 - Field Day. 5th graders usually do this from 8:30ish until 11 A.M.ish outside. Rain Date is the next Tuesday. Volunteers should arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and become familiar with their station.
Monday, May 27 - Memorial Day - No School
Tuesday, May 28 - Chromebooks and chargers must be returned to school on this day; students do not keep them for the summer. Our 5th grade end of the year party is at Leland Park from 11-2:00ish. Dress for the weather. No electronics, bikes, rollerblade, etc. Students need to pay $5 by May 10 for the pizza, snacks, and stuff we will provide there for them. They may bring footballs, basket balls, but NO BATS.
Wed., May 29 - Last Day of 5th Grade! We sign yearbooks and watch our Timber-Lee slide show. Final report cards are sent home.

Join our homeroom at Remind! See the code in the packet you received at Open House, and you can choose to receive notifications from me via text, email, etc.
Power School Parent Portal - Keep track of your child's grades and assignments by logging in to Power School. Your User Name and password information will be sent home at the beginning of the school year. Only the main office can give you login and password information should you forget or lose it.
I will do my best to have grades and assignments updated each week. It is the student's responsibility to keep track of homework and activities in their assignment notebooks on a daily basis. PARENTS: Look at your child's assignment notebook every day to see what we did in class and keep track of upcoming activities, quizzes, tests, etc.
