In this section of the award you will learn a new skill or develop a skill that you already have. If you are developing an existing skill then you must show a new element to allow you to practise the new skill. For example, if you are a musician are you learning a new technique? If you are a sportsperson what is you new skill? Would a video help to show your starting point?
Make sure that you have an assessor. This could be an expert, group leader, teacher or sports coach to verify that you have successfully learnt your skill and that it will have taken practice to do so. Your assessor should not be related to you. You will earn one KMS Bacc Merit point for each hour that you practise your skill.
You should keep a log of the dates and times that you have worked on your skill and also take photos or videos as evidence of your work. You must get your log book signed by your expert assessor and your Academic Mentor will check your progress.
