Course: Little Architects – Exploring Shape & Form KS2 (New)
Price: 650 THB./Session
Staff: Journey Kids Art School
Course Description: This 7-session program introduces children to the foundations of architectural design through the playful exploration of simple geometric forms. Inspired by the Bauhaus approach, students will learn that shapes such as spheres, cubes, cones, and tubes form the building blocks of creative design. To make the experience more engaging, all 3D forms will be prepared using 3D printing technology. This gives students a chance to work with modern tools while exploring traditional Bauhaus-inspired design principles. By rearranging, sketching, and painting, children will transform these forms into their own unique houses with imaginative surroundings.
Course Objectives
- Introduce students to basic 3D forms as the foundation of design and architecture.
- Use 3D-printed elements to connect modern technology with creative design.
- Encourage creativity by rearranging simple shapes into new structures.
- Develop spatial awareness and design skills through sketching and building.
- Explore color mixing and painting inspired by Bauhaus principles.
- Foster imagination by designing both a structure and its surrounding environment.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the program, students will
- Understand how simple geometric forms can combine into architectural designs.
- Create their own small-scale house structure using pre-cut 3D elements.
- Translate 3D models into 2D sketches, enhancing observation and drawing skills.
- Mix primary colors to develop unique color schemes for their projects.
- Complete and present a finished “Little Bauhaus House” with a designed
surrounding area.
