Course: Drum & Rhythm Foundation Y1-Y2
Staff: Beat - Orathai Singhaart
Course Description: The Drum & Rhythm Foundation ECA is the first step for young students who want to grow into confident percussionists and drummers in the future. Rather than jumping straight into playing the drum kit, this course focuses on the essential building blocks of rhythm listening, coordination, timing, and musical awareness. Through fun activities, body percussion, and rhythm games, students will develop the core skills every great drummer needs before moving on to instruments. This foundation is not only important for drumming but also supports all areas of music learning. As the entry point to the wider percussion program, students who join Drum & Rhythm Foundation will have priority access to advanced percussion ECAs in the future, such as Feel the Beat, World Music Percussion Ensemble, Primary Percussion Ensemble, and Senior Percussion Ensemble. These groups are always in very high demand, often oversubscribed with more than 100 sign-ups each season. By starting here, children secure a pathway into these exciting ensembles. Joining this ECA ensures your child is well-prepared, confident, and first in line for the incredible percussion opportunities ahead.
