Elizabeth is the Faculty Leader for the Science department, and one of our most respected teachers in Kings’. She is an excellent role model having attended Oxford University (St. John's College) where she studied Psychology, Philosophy and Physiology; and Elizabeth also holds a Masters in Mental Health Studies from King's College, London. Elizabeth became a Science teacher to impart her enthusiasm and passion for the scientific field to the next generation. She seeks to inspire more young individuals to immerse themselves in the Medical field and the world of STEM, in the hope that they will drive future technological and medical advances.

I am from Derbyshire in the UK. After completing my degree in Biological Science and my PGCE at the University of Nottingham, I then taught for 4 years in an Outstanding school in Derbyshire before moving to Dubai. This year I completed my Masters in Education, in which I investigated the impact of different types of feedback in the classroom.

I was inspired to become a Science teacher by my own Year 9 teacher in school, who was incredibly passionate about her subject and always challenged me to learn more about current scientific discoveries and developments – which is something that all keen scientists need to be doing!

In my spare time I love to travel and explore– last year I traveled to 10 different countries including Sri Lanka, Bali and Cambodia.

I attended the University of Manchester where I studied Biochemistry. My first job was a trainee engineer for an international telecommunications company, and I spent many years working in Asia as a science journalist.

An interesting fact about me is that I have done more than 800 freefall skydives. I am also a huge science fiction geek and a fan of the Expanse TV series.

I have been teaching science for nearly 20 years, but chemistry is my passion. It teaches us about the world around us and it ties together biology and medicine, physics and maths, earth and environmental sciences. But most importantly, it’s great fun and I will never get bored of adding sodium to water and setting fire to thermite.

I studied Applied Physics at Salford University and then did my PGCE at Manchester University

I have completed two round the world trips and have visited many countries on my travels.

Highlights include travelling up the coast of Chile and travelling around California

I am a Manchester City supporter and used to have a season ticket in the UK.

I am passionate about Physics and Cosmology as I have always wanted to know how we came to be here. I think that the scientific method is humanities most profound invention and offers the only hope for the future of the human race. Also finding out how things work is fun !

I attended Oxford Brookes University, where I studied Biology. I then completed my PGCE in Secondary Science at the University of Nottingham followed by a Post Graduate National Award for Special Educational Needs.

A few interesting facts about myself are that Ig led various environmental initiatives for councils across the United Kingdom. I have a great passion for cooking and have won every cooking contest that I have taken part in.

It was the wonders of science that led me to become a Biology teacher. I wanted to inspire future generations to explore the depths of logic and reason behind the various phenomenon that occur in the world around us, encouraging natural curiosity and critical thinking in their journeys to becoming global citizens.

My passion for chemistry started when I studied Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Alexandria in Egypt. I started my career as a community pharmacist giving patients access to their medications and advising them about their health. I realized that my strength lies in my capability to interact, engage, and educate. This is when I decided to move into teaching.

I truly believe that teachers have a major role in shaping their students’ lives. I earned my PGCE from the University of Birmingham. My teaching career spanned four countries between Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi and the UAE over a period of 8 years.

A few things to know about me; I played table tennis professionally and later became a referee. I have always been a good cook with an interest to explore new recipes from around the world.

I have completed Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aeronautical engineering from City University, London. Then I decided to take my lifelong passion of teaching as my fulltime profession and completed PGCE from Brunel University, London. Currently, I am pursuing master’s degree in ‘Learning and Teaching’ at Oxford university (Kellogg College), and hope to complete it by autumn, 2022.

I have been very passionate to teach physics and its real-life applications because I thoroughly enjoyed studying it in my student life and I know everyone else will feel the same if they are exposed to the beauty of it in a proper way.

Apart from teaching, I love travelling and trying cuisines from different parts of the world. Also, I am a die-hard fan of cricket. My personal and professional life experiences have instilled enthusiasm and positive outlook for life in me and infused the drive to work hard for achieving my dreams. My aim is to impart these values among my students as well.

I am from a small town called South Shields located along the North East coast of England. I attended University in Leeds where I studied Biomedical science with a focus in Biochemistry. I then went on to study my PGCE (Chemistry) at the University of Sunderland, where I am currently studying for my master's in education putting me at the forefront of pedagogical research.

I have a keen interest in hiking and I have recently completed the National three peak challenge. In my spare time I love to travel, my most recent adventure involved travelling around the Amalfi coast of Italy.

I am passionate about teaching science as I have the firm belief that children and young people should develop their understanding of the wider world. I aim to inspire students to look at the world and to always question why.

I studied Biomedical Sciences at university and then went on to do a PGCE in Secondary Science at the Department of Education, Kingston University. My favourite areas of Biology are health and disease.

I have been teaching Science for ten years. I became a teacher to inspire students to develop a love for life long learning and an appreciation of the importance of Science in every day life. I am passionate about enrichment and aim to foster students interests and curiosity within STEAM.

Some interesting things about me are that I trained as a phlebotomist, I have an artistic flair, I love exploring nature with my children and I love to travel to places with a rich history.

I am from London, United Kingdom.

I graduated with a degree in Biochemistry and went on to complete my PGDE at University College London (UCL) with Teach First. I began my teaching career during my A-level studies as a private tutor and continued in the field of teaching ever since.

A few interesting facts about myself are that I have volunteered for a month in Akshardham (prime attraction and cultural campus in New Delhi), worked on Bollywood film sets and hiked up a glacier in Iceland.

I regard teaching my passion and find fulfillment in seeing my students achieve, rise to challenges and develop key skills, which will benefit future generations. I became a science teacher to impart scientific knowledge whilst stimulating the next generation of young individuals to become successful, enthusiastic scientists, who will help to enrich our quality of life in the fields of technology, health and energy usage.

My favourite subject since I was in school has always been physics. I have always enjoyed applying maths to science to solve real life problems we face every day. I undertook a masters degree in Civil Engineering at the University as I wanted to apply my knowledge of maths and physics to help develop the modern day environment and infrastructure, without which normal life today would be impossible.

I also found great satisfaction in teaching others about the importance and uses of physics and engineering and undertook a PGCE in Physics at Kings' College London.

Other than physics, my hobbies include playing sports, (mainly football!) I am a huge fan of Liverpool FC and always enjoy a footy catch up with fellow or rival fans.
