We have had a fab day in our amazing costumes: designing book tokens, rapping story books and sharing stories in family groups.
In English, we have written amazing stories about heroes defeating monsters, inspired by the story Beowulf. We used the skills we learnt in art (about printing and illuminated letters) to design our own pages to publish our stories onto.
The finished results look incredible. Well done Year 5!
We learnt about how to use AI chat bots safely.
We made posters to make people aware.
If anything makes us feel worried, we know to speak to a trusted adult, family member or childline.
This term, our art focus is printing. We are working with local artist Jamie to use tetra-pak to make sustainable printing stamps which we can then reuse. Our first go looks fab!
In science this week, we have been investigating friction.
We carried out an experiment to test the friction on different surfaces.
We used Newton Meters to measure the effects of friction.
In PE this term, we are focusing on basketball. Bad weather kept us inside this week but we were able to use the time to hone our ball skills and practise some tricks!
