WORLD BOOK DAY
The class looked fabulous on Thursday when they arrived in costume for World Book Day. They enjoyed doing some activities about books during the morning and having a treat in the afternoon!
STEEL PANS
During this half terms music lessons the children have been learning how to play the steel drums. They have made fantastic progress and can now accompany, 'Three Little Birds,' by Bob Marley.
In addition they have also been learning to play the recorder to the same music.
A video will follow when we have reached a performance standard!
As part of our art work on printing we experimented by printing with a range of different materials and textures. We then made these collagraphs out of wood and used them to print a picture that we had designed.
Writing
During our writing lessons today we were using new vocabulary to describe an underwater picture. I was so impressed with not only their sentences but also their group work. Have a read and see what you think!
Science
In our Science lessons this week we were learning what shadows are and how they are made. Next week they will investigate how to change the size of shadows.
DRAMA
Our new book for the Spring term is 'Leon and the Place Between.' This week the children have started to explore the book through drama, stepping into Leon’s world to imagine the sights, sounds and feelings of the mysterious Place Between. Through movement, role-play and freeze frames, the children brought the story’s magic to life, building curiosity and excitement.
