Information for

Parents

As parents we have a huge impact on our children. Life changes fast and so does the world around us.

At King Ethelbert School we offer a range of educational and career related support for your child. All students in Y11,12 and 13 are offered independent careers advice, we host many exciting career events and have external speakers in to talk about career pathways, we offer work experience and work opportunities, as well as inspiring presentations from our ex-students and the local community - see our 'Careers Strategy' for more detail of what is offered at each key stage.

So what can you do to support your child with that future plans and career aspirations?

Talking Futures is a really useful resource created to help parents/carers to have informed and constructive conversations with their child/ren about the different training and education resources available to them.

This website is aimed at 16–19-year-olds to explain the different pathways available to them. The link is useful for both students and parents/carers.

Would you like to contribute to our careers programme?

We are always looking for parents/carers, family and friends or members of our local community to contribute to our careers programme. This could be offering work experience placements, running a small workshop for selected students or talking to our students about your own career journey and experiences in the workplace. Is there an opportunity for us to bring some students to you? If you want to take part but are unable to do so in person than a recorded video or written information about the organisation you work at could be useful - every little helps!!!!
