Welcome to King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls
You are probably spending a lot of time thinking about where you would like to go for secondary school and this website aims to show you what life is like if you study at King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls. Our school is a very special place to be and we work very hard to make sure that we give our students the best start to their successful lives. Learning here is exciting, exhilarating and challenging.
Whilst we would usually be welcoming you to our school for an open event on the school grounds, current restrictions mean we are unable to do this- instead, we hope that this website gives you a flavour of what it means to be a member of the KE Handsworth family.
KEVIHS is a selective grammar school, which means you will need to gain a qualifying score on the grammar entrance test in order to gain a place here. The guidance regarding admissions can be found here:

Once you do gain a place- so many exciting doors are opened for you and you'll get the opportunity to flourish in an environment that welcomes hard work, diligence and kindness. You do not pay to attend this school.
