The KESD Mentoring Program is committed to providing our new teachers, new to KESD and new to the profession of teaching, with the tools they need to become reflective practitioners through structured events focused on the craft of teaching. The program balances offering support, creating challenge, and facilitating vision.Â
To learn more about the program's rationale, benefits, and guidelines, please refer to the KESD Mentor Mentee Handbook.
All new teachers to KESD will receive one year of mentoring with a focus on the Danielson Framework and KESD Instructional Practice Expectations. All new teachers to KESD with less than two years experience will receive two years of mentoring with differentiation in year 2 through an individualized growth plan.
