Welcome to Kilkeary National School, Kilkeary, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary

We are a 3-teacher primary school located 7 km from Nenagh. Our aim is to deliver high quality education to all pupils according to their ability and personal goals. Education is not just about academic excellence and learning skills. We work to help pupils be their best selves, to build confidence and self-esteem, and to live and work peacefully with themselves and others. We strive to help them to become competent, mature and self-motivated individuals.

Welcome to Kilkeary National School’s webpage. Kilkeary N.S. is a child-centred school where every child is valued and included.  We cherish the individuality of every child and seek to ensure that each child is encouraged to achieve their potential in a safe educational setting with their peers. This website seeks to show - amongst other things - the breadth and depth of the activities - curricular and extra-curricular - that the children are engaged in. We celebrate each child's individuality and the importance of fostering a sense of belonging for all. We place great emphasis on respect and good manners and these values are actively promoted in school. 

Kilkeary N.S is a rural school consisting of three mainstream classrooms and a Special Education classroom. We have ample play areas - both grass and tarmac and regularly part-take in local soccer, GAA and other sporting events. 

As a staff, we rely heavily on the support of families and see good home-school links as vital to support our students. We welcome parental contributions and are grateful for the time spent at home in development of the child’s primary school years. As the saying goes - it takes a village to raise a child. Thank you.
