The 2017-18 founding board members helped develop the following:
A board led by High School Students (with mentoring from the museum and the community) to help the mission of KidZone Museum, to inspire learning through creative play and discovery.
Provide an impactful experience and leadership opportunity that builds life-long skills for High School students.
Provide High School Students with service learning opportunities in the community.
Overview of Volunteer Opportunities:
Leadership: This is a priority to get the Board off the ground successfully. You get to make us great with your ideas and efforts. Help with board development, recruiting, taking minutes, setting up meetings, website updates, writing and making changes to the structure of the board as needed to make it be successful.
Exhibits Creations. Engineering, Electrical, Design and Theme.
Education: Science, Art, Nature, Other
Events: Social events, face painting, Farm Day, Science Festival, Daddy & Me
Outreach to the community so everyone can experience learning at the museum.
Media, Video Production, Press Releases, Public Speaking, Tour Guide (Be an Ambassador)
What do you want to do? Develop your own project for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts or yourself.

Time Commitment: Minimum is estimated at 1 hour every other week which includes meetings and projects. The time you spend on the board depending on your project and if you wish to get an award. The minimum requirement is to attend meetings which may be bi-weekly during the Truckee High lunch period on Wednesdays. The meetings are logged here. We can adjust this schedule to meet the groups needs when necessary.
Requirement of Service: You must be able to attend 50% of meetings, respond to communications that are related to your service as a Teen Board member within a week or sooner as needed. Communication and accountability are essential for success.
