Any class, club, academic team, athletic team activity, social event, or fundraiser must be pre-approved by the building principal and superintendent. Forms indicating the nature of the activity, the advisor, areas of the campus needed, and the dates of the activity must be submitted and approved before any activity can take place or before advertising starts. Forms may be picked up in the main office or downloaded. Fundraising form; Facility Use form. Please note deadlines listed on the forms.
Fundraisers may not begin until the approved form has been received by the requesting organization. Materials for fundraising may not be ordered until approval has been received. Requests for the following school year will be considered after the last student day of the current school year. Some fundraisers are offered as right-of-first refusal to the same group during subsequent school years.
Additional Fundraising Guidelines:
Only one fundraiser of its type will be approved for any K-12 Monmouth group within a month’s time: for instance, if one group is selling bumper stickers, another group will not be approved to sell the same or similar items. Administrative discretion will be used to determine similarity of requests. Some activities may be approved on a once-a-year basis to avoid overlap.
Concurrent fundraising requests may be made for multiple groups occupying tables or booths at a collective event (e.g., Craft Fair, Block Party, AppleFest). Fundraising groups must receive permission to participate in these events from the sponsoring organization before filling out the Fundraising Forms.
Athletic-related apparel or items are subject to approval by the Athletic Director.
School administration will manage overlapping requests to the best of our ability. The determination of priority for fundraisers may include criteria such as first-come, first-served; timeline; or need.
School dances and fundraising events that occur during the school day will be reserved for school clubs or groups only (e.g., Student Government, Envirothon, or Robotics) and shall not be used for “Class Of” fundraising.
A list of approved fundraisers for the current school year is available on the MMS Information Page at https://sites.google.com/kidsrsu.org/mms/fundraising.
