For this project we had to do a lot of research and studying. First we had to learn about primary and secondary sources. Following this we had to learn all about the tensions between Great Britain and the 13 colonies. Next we had to learn about people's roles in the Revolutionary War. After researching we decided that some people’s perspectives were not heard as much as others. The purpose of our project is to show a diversity in the representation of firsthand accounts during the Revolutionary War. Most people aren't aware of the perspectives of children, slaves, women, and Native Americans. It’s important to learn about all stories, not just the ones told by educated white men.
In our project, we studied the historical stories of various groups of people living through the Revolutionary War. On this site, we will explain and relate to the stories through fictional primary sources based in today's technology.
This page contains fictional primary sources set in Facebook, Email, iMessage, and more.
This page has our student-led discussions about whether independence was worth fighting for.
