Classroom Rules and Expectations
As a specials team, we have put together a point system to enforce our classroom rules. Each time your child's class enters the music room, they have the opportunity to receive 5 Music Points.
1. Enter Quietly2. Listen3. Effort4. Respect - themselves, others, and instruments5. Exit Quietly
If the class works together and we receive all 5 points, their class clip on my behavior chart moves up one color. If we do not receive all 5 points, we do not move up a color. In some cases, we may even move down a color. When they reach the top (ideally after 7 or more class periods), we plan the next class together. The idea is the students choose what we do, either an activity we have done in the past or something they have been wanting to do but we haven't yet. It is a fun reward, plus a bonus reinforcing review day for me.
