Major/Career Exploration

Choosing a major and career goals can be a challenge for many students. Here are some resources that the Office of Career Development offers to help:

Make an appointment to talk about your interests, skills, personality, values, etc. and how they might connect with a major or career.

Available to all students are the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. The instruments assess your interests and personality, respectively, and give ideas for how that information might relate well to different career paths. Click the link for more information.

Guides for each major available at Keuka College containing a brief description, some examples of careers (please note: not every possibility!), work environments in which you might find those majors employed, and valuable skills received from each major.

Minors can be a great addition to help you supplement your major or to explore other interests. Explore the minors available at Keuka College here.

Part of making a solid choice about a major or career is to explore what different occupations are, the projected market for them, salaries, and what kind of education is needed to become employed in that occupation. Find helpful links towards understanding occupations here.
