You are what makes THE MAD ONES Lab a community - your participation, your presence, and your creative practice. Here, we outline the different types of community activities that will take place over the course of the lab. You are invited to participate in as much or little as you desire. Some events are synchronous. Some aren't. Some will focus on craft, some on creative process, and some are just about having a good time.
Scroll down to learn more about each kind of event and how to participate in them.
Meet-Ups are a weekly gathering to discuss highlights and challenges of the process as well as to connect and share resources with all Lab Members. Meet-Ups will begin all together, and we will discuss questions or breakthroughs that have emerged and apply to everyone. Then we will break into groups according to script section or artistic role to get into even deeper discussions.
You can see reminders for these meet-ups in the Lab Google Calendar.
Monday Check Ins are weekly opportunities to share on Discord any challenges you're facing, questions you have, or puzzles you are attempting to solve. Each Monday you will get a different prompt in the Discord channel. We invite you to use this as a way to update the Lab team as well as each other - you are each other's greatest resource!
You can see reminders for these events in the Lab Google Calendar.
Friday Wins are weekly opportunities to share on Discord what successes you have had throughout your week! You will get a different prompt each Friday to begin the sharing. These are opportunities to express gratitude as we continue to try new things, explore boundaries, and invent a new world together.
You can see reminders for these events in the Lab Google Calendar.
Skill Shares are Work Sessions led by Lab Members. We will be posting a poll in Discord to see what kinds of Skill Shares folks would be interested in attending.
Once we get the results of the poll, we'll create a sign up for Lab Members who are interested in volunteering their time to lead a Skill Share. So check back here for more information!
