Important Deadlines for 2020-2021
The FAFSA Deadline is June 30th, 2023 for current Seniors.
The California FAFSA Deadline is March 2nd, 2023
Many Individual Schools have specific deadlines as well, so make sure to check those sites for more details.
The above deadlines fall around the same time every year so Juniors make sure to keep them in mind as you can begin applying for FAFSA usually each October.
What is FAFSA?
FAFSA is a free application for federal student aid for college students and the amount of aid that you are awarded is based on your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) or how much your family is expected to be able to support you based on income and family size.
Why is it important?
You must fill out your FAFSA before each Academic School Year in order to receive any aid you qualify for including state aid such as the CAL Grant and federal loans which usually have much lower interest rates and some are subsidized (no interest while in school).
How do you apply?
You can apply for your FAFSA by visiting studentaid.gov but there are a few things you will need to have ready:
Create a student and parent FSD (log in info for FAFSA)
Social Security #
Family Income Info (taxes if filed from previous year)
