"Since 1996, VE has transformed the lives of 200,000+ young people through authentic business experiences that prepare them for fulfilling, financially secure futures. VE does this by partnering with schools, districts, and businesses across the United States to create educational pathways that align career education and work-based learning with academic standards-based education" -Virtual Enterprise International
This is Ms. Polston, the Virtual Enterprise teahcer. When interviewing Ms. Polston, she was asked the following questions: "What is Virtual Enterprise?" and "Why is it important for students to join Virtual Enterprise?" Here are her responses...
"What is Virtual Enterprise?"
" V.E. is a year long course that students can take where you run a simulated business in the class. Students are creating an idea and then execute the idea. They work in departments where they are assigned roles and responsibilities. We also have competitions along the way which include regionals, state, and nationals where we get to earn ranks, certificates, and awards for our good work."
"Why is it important for students to join VE?"
"I love VE, I was a VE student myself so its very full circle now to be teaching VE. I would not be where I am today without VE. I think that VE is the foundation for every other class your gonna take in college and high-school. It teaches you really important soft skills, but also really important hard skills that are more technical so its allowing you to experience what a work place and a work environment is going to look like without any real pressure cause we're still in high school and we're still figuring it out, but you get all the luxuries and benefits of figuring it out and having some assistance from your peers and your coach."
