Need Additional Help?
888.224.7268
Whether a student is completing a bachelor’s program (BA), associate’s program (AA), a credential program, or a career technical education program, there’s money available to help!
To start the application process start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) or CA Dream Act Application (CADAA®). Then you will create a Web Grants Account (WG4S®) to keep track of your grants.
College Deadlines
Each college may have its own deadline. Check with the college(s) you’re interested in attending. You may also want to ask your college about its definition of an application deadline. Is it the date your FAFSA form is processed or the date the college receives your processed FAFSA data?
Federal Deadlines
2024–2025 Academic Year
APPLICATION OPENS December 1st 2024
**APPLICATION DEADLINE MARCH 2, 2025**
**For many state financial aid programs: March 2, 2025 (date postmarked).**
**Cal Grant also requires submission of a school-certified GPA by March 2, 2025.**
What Financial Aid Application should I submit?
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
If a student is a US Citizen, permanent resident, or other qualifying non-resident then they must submit a FAFSA by the March 2 Cal Grant Deadline to be eligible for the most opportunities. To start the FAFSA a student will need to create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID so they can login and sign the completed application.
CA Dream Act Application (CADAA)
Undocumented students who meet AB 540 requirements will need to submit the CA Dream Act Application by the March 2 Cal Grant Deadline to be eligible for the most opportunities. After a student completes the CA Dream Act Application they must respond to requests for additional information including but not limited to the AB 540 affidavit from the student’s school of attendance. The CA Dream Act Application is used to apply for state financial aid. Contact the California Student Aid Commission at csac.ca.gov, your financial aid administrator, or BC's AB 540 advisor for more information.
All students should create a WebGrants 4 Students (WG4S) Account
Students should create a WG4S account to monitor and manage their state awarded financial aid.
After a student’s FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application is processed, they will receive an email from CSAC letting them know it’s time to create their WebGrants 4 Students account. WebGrants 4 Students (WG4S) will let students check the status of their state grants, and take necessary steps to secure their aid.
Make sure a Grade Point Average (GPA) has been submitted to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC)
All students will need to ensure their GPA has been submitted to CSAC.
The best way to do this is by creating a WebGrants 4 Students account and logging in to confirm we have a GPA on file. All students must ensure CSAC has their GPA on file by the March 2 deadline.
For additional community college Cal Grants: Sept. 2, 2025 (date postmarked).
The FAFSA form must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on June 30, 2025. Any corrections or updates must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on Sept. 14, 2025.

TESTING INFORMATION
SAT
The SAT is a multiple-choice college entrance exam administered by The College Board. The purpose of the SAT is to measure a student's readiness for college. The SAT is not required for high school graduation in the state of Nevada; however, you should check with your colleges of interest to see if it is required or recommended for admission or financial aid. Most students take the SAT for the first time in the spring of their junior year of high school.
For more information, including cost and upcoming testing dates go to collegeboard.org.
Test waivers may be available to eligible students. Please contact Ms.Certuche for more details.
ACT
The ACT is recognized as a college entrance exam used by colleges and universities to make admission decisions across the United States. ACT scores are also often used to determine scholarships and financial aid eligibility. The exam has a multiple-choice section covering math, English, reading, and science. It also has an optional writing test in which examiners plan and write a short essay.
For more information, including cost and upcoming testing dates, please visit www.act.org.
Test waivers may be available to eligible students. Please contact Mrs. Certuche for more details.
PSAT
The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) is mostly a practice version of the SAT®, but it can also lead to more money for college. When you take the PSAT as a Junior, you will automatically be entered into the National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s scholarship and recognition programs. You will also gain access to a personalized study plan that is based on your PSAT performance. The PSAT is administered in the fall and is open to Sophomores and Juniors.

The PSAT helps you prepare for the SAT or ACT.

Our Mission Statement
To provide our students college and career planning, academic support, career guidance, and college application assistance and resources. We collaborate with our parents/guardians, community partners, academic counselors and California Student Opportunity and Access Program to better understand our students goals and needs. Students are welcome to come into our office with or without an appointment for further assistance. While we support all students, the majority of individual appointments are scheduled for seniors and juniors.
What is CSAC Cal-SOAP?
California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) is a college support program intended to help students by increasing their understanding of the college application process and encouraging a college-going culture. Our College Success Coaches will visit classrooms and/or call students into the college and career center to provide academic guidance or college advice. We serve all students but work with seniors and juniors frequently to ensure they have all the tools necessary once they graduate.
