Dr. Kerry A. Rouhier, Principle Investigator
I joined the Kenyon faculty in 2010 after working at Doane University in Nebraska as a post-doctoral associate. While at Doane I worked on several different research projects including synthesis of fluorescent compounds, development of small molecule detection systems, and understanding spatial reasoning. However, I am most passionate about metabolic systems, how enzymes function to catalyze these reactions, and the importance of the intermediates made along the way. I received my BS in Chemistry (Math minor) from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI where I was also a five-time All-American in track and field. I received my PhD in Chemistry from Miami University in Oxford, OH before heading west for the teaching-research post doc in Nebraska at Doane University. I live in nearby Mount Vernon with my husband Prof. Matt Rouhier (also in the Chemistry Department at Kenyon), our son Zachary, daughter Ava, and dog Lewis (look for him in my office at Kenyon!).
