Kerry Rouhier Lab

Welcome to the Kerry Rouhier Lab at Kenyon College!

When plants are stressed by outside factors they break down branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) as sources of fuel. Alternatively, they may use BCAAs to make specialized metabolites to help protect the plant from infection or pests. Our lab studies the enzymes and intermediates involved in the degradation of BCAAs in the model organism Arabidopsis thaliana and in Solanaceae.
