GETTING STARTED
The Partnership Process

Business partners play a vital role in helping prepare our students for postsecondary and career success by providing meaningful, relevant learning experiences that directly relate to our world today. As you're getting started, you'll work with Partnership Coordinators before meeting with the Academies. Learn about the process for becoming a partner:

There are three components to the partnership:

Steps to Becoming an Academies Partner

Opportunities for partnership and initial interest are discussed with a Partnership Coordinator (from JCPS, GLI or KentuckianaWorks) to determine the best path for the business and if an Academy Partnership is a good fit for all parties involved.

If determined to be a good fit, the business (you) will meet with Kristin Wingfeld (JCPS) to assess your interest and capacities and will provide an orientation to the partnership culture. She will also discuss the various levels of involvement and the relevant career pathways within the Academy schools.

Once a relationship has been established, you will be introduced to potential schools that fit within relevant career pathways to determine the best fit. Each party will evaluate the potential talent pipeline and benefits of the partnership before agreeing to move to the next stage.

A Partnership Agreement Form is signed by both parties along with an assessment of the needs, goals, and desired contributions of your business and your partner school. An outline of expectations between the school and the Business Partner will be created, and all parties will brainstorm activities for the action plan.

Time to make things happen! With support from your Partnership Coordinator, you will meet with your designated school's Academy Coach and educators to brainstorm ideas for student engagement and develop an action plan for the year. Your business is unique and so is your partnership!

As activities take place, the Academy Coach and Partnership Coordinator will monitor participation and success. The Partnership Coordinator will check-in with all parties frequently to ensure steps from the Action Plan are taking place, and will assist the Business Partner with an evaluation of the partnership.
