State law requires children between the ages of 6 and 18 to attend school. Any child who becomes 5 years of age on or before August 1, is eligible for the Primary School Program (beginning with Kindergarten).
Eligibility for public preschool requires children to be 3 years old with a developmental delay or 4 years old with a developmental delay or income eligible. Click here for information on enrolling in preschool.
Use the school finder to determine the school your son/daughter(s) should attend based upon your address.
If your house is outside of Ft. Wright Elementary School's area, your scholar may still attend, but you will need to talk to our office staff about tuition or open enrollment options based on KCPS policy and available space.
