About Me

Welcome to 3rd grade! My name is Mrs. Lori Collins and I am excited to begin my 27th year of teaching. I am proud to say that I am a product of the Kenton County School system. I attended Piner Elementary, Twenhofel Middle School, and Simon Kenton High School! I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University in 1993 and my Masters Degree in 1998. My teaching experience includes one year in the 4th grade at White's Tower Elementary, 15 years teaching 5th grade here at Kenton Elementary, and 10 years teaching third grade.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 27 years, and we have two children. Our daughter is beginning her third year at the University of Louisville and our son is beginning the 7th grade at Twenhofel this year.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, hanging out at my parents' pool, going out to eat, watching Criminal Minds, listening to country music, and attending my son's basketball games!

In addition to my teaching responsibilities here at Kenton, I serve as our grade level's team lead. I am also one of our school's STLP team coordinators. I serve on our school's Math Committee and am highly involved in helping to plan our annual Family Math Night event!

I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning in 3rd grade! I can't wait to see our third graders perform like "Rock Stars"!
