Course Information

In Education, Design Thinking is a pedagogical approach that provides a high quality experience for students and allows teachers to do what they do best, facilitate student development.

The Kent ISD Design Thinking Academy is a series of professional development sessions that explores the benefits, methods and available resources for applying design thinking practices in the classroom or online. With a mix of live, asynchronous and job-embedded learning, you'll walk away with a firm understanding of design thinking and how it can be used with your students.

Our team is comprised of Education professionals that are available for continued support in advising and developing design thinking implementations.

How Do I Participate and Complete the Design Thinking Academy?

  1. Register for the course using the "Register Today" button. The Design Thinking Academy is open to all classroom teachers, regardless of subject or grade level. Priority will be given to Kent County teachers.

  2. Cost is $25 for up to 54 SCECHs (outline below).

  3. Once registration is closed, you will be contacted with further information about the course and how to get started.

SCECH Credit

This course was designed for interested and registered participants. If you are a Michigan educator and would like to receive up to 54 SCECH credits, please make sure you register for the course through the KISD PD Hub using the "Register Today!" button above.
