Begin to research teaching topic
If teaching as a duo, two topics and two class hours minimum. (These do not need to be delivered back to back.)
Topic choice considerations:
Relevance: Why is this topic/skill important?
Practicality: Can I teach this topic/skill? (Do you have enough base info or time to learn enough to teach this topic?)
Materials: What would you need to accomplish teaching this skill?
Assessment: How will we know that the class learned this skill?
Project Based Learning: What "Project/hands on lesson will we be doing to support the learning?
Depth: Is there enough material to teach a minimum of a class period? (This can be longer if needed, but teaching, activities/projects, assessment should be a class hour minimum)
